NeuraMuse LINK · Cross-platform multiroom

One source.
Independent rooms.
A shared musical timeline.

NeuraMuse LINK connects Windows and Apple Silicon macOS systems on the same trusted local network. One machine acts as the source/master; the others join as room endpoints while keeping their own local audio device and rendering choice.

LINK in a real system

Either desktop platform can lead. The other can join.

The screenshots below show macOS as the Master and Windows as a joined endpoint. LINK roles are reversible: Windows can be Master and Apple Silicon macOS can join.

Each endpoint renders locally through its own selected audio device. The room state and programme are shared; the DAC remains local to each system.

Architecture

Programme distribution and local rendering are separate.

LINK distributes the programme and timing information, while every room renders locally through its own DAC or compatible output.

Source / Master

Start the programme once

Local library playback or Internet Radio can act as the source for the LINK session.

Followers

Join from other rooms

Windows and Apple Silicon macOS systems can join when they use a matching NeuraMuse build/protocol on the same LAN.

Local audio

Each room keeps its own output

Every endpoint uses its own ASIO device on Windows or CoreAudio output on macOS.

PCM clock control

Designed to resist long-term drift

PCM followers use continuous clock/drift correction so separate DAC clocks do not simply free-run against each other.

PCM LINK

Each room can choose how it wants to sound.

With PCM, the source programme is shared but rendering remains local. One room may stay in DIRECT while another uses TUBE, VINYL or AURA.

Living room — DIRECT
Studio — TUBE
Bedroom — AURA
Another room — VINYL

DIRECT is the reference path for bit-perfect playback where the selected hardware, driver and source format allow it. Any room that enables TUBE, VINYL or AURA intentionally enters DSP processing and is no longer bit-perfect.

DSD / DoP LINK

DIRECT at the master. Choice at each follower.

For DSD/DoP distribution, the source/master remains in DIRECT. DSD128 / 5.64 MHz is the verified hardware example shown on the home page, not a fixed rate ceiling; higher rates up to DSD512 depend on each endpoint's DAC, driver and output path. Followers then decide whether to preserve that path or process locally.

Master

DIRECT required

The master must stay in DIRECT for DSD/DoP transmission through LINK.

Follower · DIRECT

Bit-perfect room

A compatible follower that remains in DIRECT preserves the DSD/DoP bit-perfect path.

Follower · DSP

Local processing by choice

A follower may select TUBE, VINYL or AURA. That room continues following the programme but deliberately leaves the bit-perfect path. If DIRECT is selected again during that processed DSD track, bit-perfect DSD resumes at the next track boundary.

All rooms bit-perfect

Keep every room in DIRECT

If the goal is a bit-perfect chain across the complete LINK system, the master and every follower must remain in DIRECT.

Internet Radio

Radio can become the multiroom source.

Internet Radio can feed a LINK session just like local playback. NeuraMuse uses native-format lock so the decoded PCM sample rate can remain native when the selected output supports it.

A compressed Internet stream must first be decoded to PCM, so native decoded sample rate should not be confused with source-bit-perfect delivery.

Early Access requirements

Build matching and compatible local audio still matter.

Windows

Windows 10 / 11 x64

Use a compatible ASIO driver for the intended audio path.

macOS

Apple Silicon only

M-series Macs using CoreAudio. Intel Macs are not currently supported.

Network

Same trusted LAN

Use matching NeuraMuse builds/protocol versions and allow local-network access for LINK.

Hardware

The endpoint sets the ceiling

Available DSD rate follows each room's DAC, driver and output path; DSD128 is not a fixed NeuraMuse cap.
